Schmidt in the New York Times

Some of you wanted to know what
"Mr. [Bernie]  Sanders’s stop at a brewery in Ames on Saturday was so mobbed that more than 100 people who could not fit inside peered through the windows.

Along with a picture of the scene he posted on Twitter, Steffen Schmidt, a political science professor at Iowa State University who teaches a course on the caucuses, wrote, “Hillary should worry.”

"Iowa Democrats “truly hate Clinton’s ‘listening tour’ campaign,” Mr. Schmidt said in a follow-up email exchange. “They feel neglected.”

Yes, Clinton is way ahead of the game but often overconfident sports teams suffer the consequences of hubris. Don't forget that in 2008 Clinton was certain she would win the Iowa caucuses and the Dem nomination. She lost Iowa and had to fight a losing delegate battle until June with an upstart Barack Obama.

One Sandinista (or is it Sandernista!) told me at the latest Sanders event "Steffen, please tell people Bernie is in this for the victory not just to influence the debate."I had the feeling that she was TOTALLY committed to Sanders populist message and to his passion about income inequality.
